WALKERS There will be one organised Benefice Walk which will start at Warkworth and will visit all ten churches in the Benefice area. Most of the Walk will be on public footpaths. You are welcome to join us for all or part of the route. The walk is intended to be great fun; it is not a race and people are welcome to walk at whatever speed suits them best. The route and (very) approximate times are as follows: Warkworth(Anglican) Depart 09:00 Middleton Cheney(Anglican, Methodist and Baptist) Depart 10:00 Chacombe (Anglican and Methodist) Depart 11:00 Thenford (Anglican) Depart 12:30 Marston St Lawrence(Anglican) Depart 13:30 Greatworth(Anglican and Methodist) Finish 15:00 If you would like to join the Benefice Walk, please make your own way to Warkworth Church and get there at 08:45. Please do not leave cars unattended in the field by the church. Please be aware that there are no toilets at Warkworth Church. The Benefice Walk is being coordinated by Nicholas Ward t. 01295 711530.
HORSE RIDERS There will be one organised horse ride which will start at Greatworth and take a circular route by road to Marston St Lawrence and Thenford and then back to Greatworth, visiting four of the ten Churches. Participants will meet at 11:00 at Bacon House, Greatworth, where refreshments will be provided. Riders will move off at about 11:20 and the ride should get back to Greatworth by 12:30 to 1:00pm. Children on ponies are welcome provided they are accompanied by an adult. The horse ride is being coordinated by Veronica Ward t. 01295 711530.
CYCLISTS Most cyclists prefer to plan their own route, either on their own or with friends. We are therefore not organising a Benefice bike ride. If you would like to be put in touch with other cyclists who are taking part, please call Nicholas Ward on 01295 711530. More experienced cyclists will want to visit 20 or 30 or more Churches but please be sure to visit all ten in our Benefice area.
CARS We are very keen that as many as possible of the residents of our Benefice should take part in Ride and Stride. If you do not want to walk or ride a horse or a bicycle, please ride in your car and visit some or all of our ten churches.
QUIZ A Quiz is being organised by Walter Stageman of Greatworth and copies of it will be available at all the churches.
VILLAGE SHOWS When you have finished your Ride and Stride activity, please remember to visit the Three Villages Show at Greatworth School and/or the Village Flower and Produce Show at Middleton Cheney Village Hall.
SPONSORSHIP Please get as many people as possible to sponsor you, using the forms provided.
