All Saints, Middleton Cheney, is delighted to announce the publication of a major new book, “William Morris at Middleton Cheney”, detailing the Stained Glass Windows dating from the 1860’s re-ordering. William Morris, his firm, colleagues and muses were all involved in the production of these windows which are visited by experts from all over the world. The book is 96 pages, with full colour illustrations, mostly from newly commissioned photography of these beautiful, but difficult to capture, windows.
Contents include an overview of the history of the Church which is a landmark for miles around Middleton Cheney, plus chapters detailing the development of each window and a theological commentary tieing back the sequence of windows to the bible stories. Contributors include Professor Brian Goodey, Emeritus Professor in Urban Design at Oxford Brookes University, Canon Roger Bellamy, former Rector of neighbouring Kings Sutton and Richard Wheeler, well-known Church historian and publisher who also edited the publication.
